The path to Tranquility (spring)
51. Satisfaction comes from learning and progress
We all yearn for a good life. In fact, achieving such a life is not difficult because we don't need much. Our parents raised us, society educated us, and have already endowed us with basic life skills. However, whether life feels satisfying depends on whether we continue to learn and progress.
In daily life or career, we often encounter various difficulties, which indicate that our knowledge level or abilities still have room for improvement, and remind us that there are still many things we need to learn. In order to live comfortably, we need to learn how to maintain physical health and manage emotions. To succeed in our careers, we need to learn how to innovate and solve problems encountered at work. When we overcome difficulties, we will feel that we have enough survival power.
Sometimes, a novel and unique idea can help us solve real-life problems and even turn adversity into good times. Therefore, in addition to improving existing abilities, we can also explore new areas to give ourselves more inspiration. For example, learn to be a novelist, a philosopher, a programmer, etc. As long as we keep our hopes for a better life, anything is possible. When we create something new, or have a new feeling about something, we feel that we have the ability to break through limitations.
Perhaps some older people will ask: "I'm not young anymore, do I still need to learn new things?" An old man started learning computers at the age of one hundred. His younger friends asked him, "You're almost dead, why are you still learning computers?" The old man laughed and replied, "But I'm not dead yet!" The old man's answer inspired us that loving learning not only makes people live well, but may also make people live longer.
Continuous learning can enrich life, help us maintain good health and open minds, and delay the decline of intelligence. By reading, thinking, and practicing, and learning new skills or languages, our horizons expand, we can understand the world more deeply, and our brains become more active. With the continuous advancement of technology and changes in the environment, we also need to constantly learn new skills and knowledge to enhance our competitiveness, meet career needs, and obtain more development opportunities. When our thinking becomes more flexible and we realize that there are many possibilities in life, we will pay more attention to physical health, so that our life span can be extended.
It is worth emphasizing that the ultimate purpose of learning is to make progress, to constantly surpass oneself and become a better self. In this process, our consciousness will continue to expand, better cooperate with life, and gain joy and satisfaction at the same time. The pride brought by progress also motivates us to keep moving forward, pursuing higher goals or achieving greater ideals. This positive attitude will inevitably bring more happy experiences, and ultimately make us feel that life is truly valuable and without regrets.
Therefore, if we hope to live happily, satisfied, and long, we should continue to learn new knowledge, understand new technologies, and keep up with the pace of the times. Life has infinite possibilities, but only by keeping curiosity can we keep pace with the times and not be easily eliminated. When we are willing to learn and continue to progress, we will naturally live out a fulfilling life.
