The path to Tranquility (spring)
41. Living peacefully is a test of wisdom
Our life is like a winding river. It flows through plains and valleys, encountering storms and also enjoying peace. The baptism of wind and rain allows us to see a gorgeous rainbow. Spring, summer, autumn and winter let us feel the warmth and coldness of the world. If we can embrace the unknown, our life will show the most charming colors.
Seeking absolute security or a habitual life is actually a suppression and waste of creativity. If we always hide in our comfort zone and are afraid of change, then life will lose its passion and vitality. Our minds do not need a hidden cave, but a vast sky where they can fly freely.
However, this does not mean that we should take risks. Risk-taking is sometimes the product of impulse, or it may be that desire blinds our consciousness and causes us to fall into unnecessary trouble. Adventure conflicts with the meaning of life and is not our true hobby and purpose.
Imagine we are standing on the top of a mountain. The scenery on the mountain is indeed charming, but the climbing process is full of dangers. What we need is not only courage, but also wisdom that goes beyond this courage. We must understand the limits of life, master our emotions, and learn to strike a balance between safety and the pursuit of goals.
True wisdom lies in keen observation. Through observation, we can understand the risks and opportunities and find the path that suits us best. More importantly, maintaining an observer’s mentality allows us to stay awake in life and use consciousness to play a game of escaping death.
In fact, avoiding unnecessary risks is more challenging than taking risks because it requires us to have higher awareness and patience. We need to constantly examine our choices and put our thoughts into action. Life is like a game of chess, every move requires careful consideration. Only in this way can we leave footprints without regrets in the race against time.
Although life is like a game, we are also exploring the depth and breadth of life. When we face life calmly and rationally, we will gain lasting peace and satisfaction. Ultimately, we do not passively accept death, but return to the embrace of nature with rich experiences. Without regrets, we will be grateful for the longevity of life and all that nature has given us.
It is worth mentioning that a quiet life does not mean giving up creativity. On the contrary, great creativity often comes from inner peace and concentration. By creating new things with a calm mind, we don’t need to waste energy chasing temporary emotional peaks. When we are no longer enslaved by emotions and no longer pursue sensory stimulation, we can devote our energy to more valuable things. This peace can also allow us to have more pure joy.
In this way, we can let go of our attachment to the past, accept the impermanence of reality, and bravely face the unknown future. This peaceful state of mind not only paves the way for consciousness and wisdom, but also allows us to feel the fullness and abundance of life as we grow.
Try to spend a little time each day talking to yourself and observing the ups and downs of your heart. When emotions come, don't be bothered by them, but understand the reasons behind them. Through this kind of observation, we will find ourselves gradually becoming calmer and more capable of creating the life we want.
To live peacefully is to find the rhythm of our life with wisdom. This is a valuable ability. Let us be observers and creators of life, rather than passers-by. Life is short, may we no longer be forced to accept change, but actively embrace all possibilities in the world.
40. Caring about the needs and feelings of others
