The path to Tranquility (spring)
23. Grasp every opportunity to love each other
This is a Buddhist story: One day the Buddha asked the disciples around
him: "How long is the lifespan of a person?" One disciple replied: "It is as
long as several days." After hearing this, the Buddha said: "You have not yet
entered the door of Buddhism." Another disciple replied: "Between a meal." The
Buddha said: "You still don't understand the Dharma." The third disciple
replied: "It is only between a breath." The Buddha praised: "Very well said!
You have grasped the meaning of the Dharma."
Life is short, only between breaths, so we must reach the state of mutual love and tranquility in a timely manner. The story from Buddhism tells us that the length of life is not determined by the duration of time, but by our understanding and grasp of life. If we can be aware of the brevity of life, we will cherish the present moment more and seize every opportunity to realize our ideals.
Every true opportunity only appears once, because the next time is already in a different time and space. So every opportunity is unique and may be the key to reaching our goals. The future is born in the present, and seizing the opportunities of the present is to hold the future in our own hands.
There are many factors that can cause us to miss opportunities. If we miss this time, there is no guarantee that we will not miss it next time. If we can seize every opportunity, we do not have to worry about missing the next one.
Every opportunity carries unique possibilities. To experience the uniqueness and richness of life, we should not miss any opportunity. If we keep hoping for the next time, it means that opportunities are becoming fewer and fewer. Therefore, only by seizing every opportunity can we reach the goals in our hearts.
The noble goal of life is loving each other. If we do not love each other today, the chance of loving each other tomorrow is low, but if we can love each other today, the chance of not loving each other tomorrow is also low. Because loving each other is the fusion of souls, fusion is not easy, and separation is even harder. However, only by awakening can we seize the opportunity to love each other. Loving each other is mutual cultivation and sharing everything with each other. Only by knowing ourselves can we share ourselves. When we recognize our own desire for a rich life, we will be more willing to share with others, because the more we share, the richer we are.
The soul in mutual love is like a blooming flower, giving sweetness and fragrance to bees and butterflies, sharing with the world. Mutual love and sharing are the foundation of enriching life, and can also stop all disputes between people. This is also a required lesson in life. If we can complete it before the end of our life, we will not have lived in vain, because we have achieved the highest value of existence. Cherish every opportunity to realize this ideal, and life will be fruitful.
