The path to Tranquility (summer)
87. Fully growing in life
In the journey of life, we will experience various growths. The growth of the
body is just a short phase, which begins to degenerate soon after maturity.
The growth of our mind does not synchronize with the development of the body,
which makes us unable to satisfy the needs of the body in time and may lead to
psychological distortions. The problems caused by physical degeneration and
psychological deficiencies, as well as the emotions caused by them, will bring
more difficulties to our lives. Therefore, having a complete consciousness,
allowing ourselves to feel comfortable and safe, is the growth we urgently
need.
Complete consciousness allows us to learn from the past, foresee the future, and prepare for long-term needs. In fact, complete consciousness is a high degree of mastery of time and space, and it is a necessary condition for us to live in the present. If this consciousness lags behind life, we will face greater dangers. Therefore, we need to cultivate complete consciousness early and realize that removing mental shackles is the key to achieving this goal.
To cultivate complete consciousness in life, we need to understand and distinguish between real needs and desires. Real needs are the needs of the body, including healthy diet and sleep, as well as exercise, touch, and stress release. Psychological needs are the virtualization of physical needs, including stability, comfort, a sense of achievement, and a sense of security. Psychological needs will drive us to meet the needs of the body. If the needs of the body are not met, psychological needs may be amplified into a dream, which is desire. Desire far exceeds our physical needs and therefore not only cannot be satisfied, but also brings us danger or damage. When the needs of the body are met, we will have a deep gratitude for life and feel that life is valuable. This sense of value satisfies psychological needs and gives us a peaceful state of mind. Therefore, to meet needs and reduce desires, we can have a healthy and stable physical and mental environment, allowing complete consciousness to develop.
On the other hand, only in the process of satisfying real needs, through understanding ourselves and the outside world, can we achieve complete consciousness. Therefore, we need to actively exert our abilities and try to meet our own needs. For example, if we need abundant materials, we must learn relevant knowledge and work hard to master the correct method of creating wealth. If we need emotional satisfaction, we should learn to love others, give others what they need, thereby establishing a positive and stable emotional relationship. Through study and practice, we can step by step meet our own needs.
Removing psychological shackles is the key to meeting needs. Therefore, we must break all habits and let our actions truly serve the needs. Doing so also helps us manage our emotions and make our behavior more rational and effective. Because habits will bring us accidents, they often become the cause of negative emotions. Replacing habits with consciousness, getting rid of emotional troubles, we can have a free soul. This soul is a combination of sensibility and rationality, which helps us efficiently meet our own needs, thereby quickly gaining complete consciousness.
Gaining complete consciousness means that we have grown fully in life. This gives us the confidence to navigate our life, and feel safe and comfortable. We will also be more sympathetic and understand the feelings and needs of others, and are willing to provide comprehensive help to others, thereby establishing a close connection with others and achieving the highest goal of life. In order to gain complete consciousness, we need to constantly correct mistakes, not be afraid of difficulties, and find the path to success from failure. This is a continuous process that requires time, patience, and perseverance. Therefore, we first need to arrange a reasonable lifestyle and experience life from all aspects.
A reasonable way of life is to be physically and mentally consistent and in the same time and space. Arrange time for work, study, and rest every day. For example, we work six hours a day, then two hours for personal growth, and then a few more hours to interact with our partners, children, or other family and friends. Reasonable allocation of time can cultivate the perception of time and clearly realize whether you are reminiscing about the past or imagining the future. In the practice of time management, it can also cultivate the consciousness of space, so that we can focus on each time and space, switch flexibly, and live comfortably in different spaces. In addition, a large part of complete consciousness is obtained from interpersonal relationships. If we are busy with work all day, we will become heavy, serious, and closed, and miss the opportunity to get along with others. When we lack communication with our partners, it is like lacking a mirror, unable to realize our subtle changes in time.
Fully experiencing life, satisfying our own needs, and cultivating complete consciousness, are ultimately for our spiritual growth. Spirituality is the sensitivity to things and the accuracy of thinking, or the speed of correct response to the outside world. It is the best indicator of the health of our brains. Our sensibility and rationality are both part of the body, and they will inevitably become dull with the decline of the body. Therefore, we need to improve our spirituality as much as possible, so that our souls can fully grow and maximize our vitality. In this way, it is possible for us to always be in a safe environment.
Everyone is unique, and the road to growth is different, but we all have common needs, which is why we need to constantly explore and adjust. Through actively meeting our own physical and mental needs, we can cultivate complete consciousness and maintain long-term health of our body and mind. This also helps us understand the needs of others, thereby establishing mutual loving relationships, and deeply embedding joy and happiness into the soul. We should seize the opportunity to have a healthy body, let the soul grow fully in life, and become the true master of our own life. It is worth emphasizing that all our growth is for the purpose of better cooperating with the process of life and realizing the true value of life.
